Coaching is a. partnership in which we identify your goals, create a plan for reaching them, and provide accountability for taking the next steps. And, if you hit a snag, we can work together to figure what’s not working and what we need to change.

For your team, staff, or organization
Working with your leadership individually and together can improve the functioning of a team as well as increase their efficiency.
Do your leaders know how to respond to grieving team members?
For a variety of reasons, a leader may be uncomfortable in knowing how to support a team member in a time of loss. I provide education and training in grief and how to be there for your team. The best time for this education is before you need it, but I am also available for consultation in specific situations.

Costs for organizations are based on needs. Introductory packages for leadership coaching are available.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are coaching and therapy the same thing?
Not at all. While some therapists may employ coaching methods in their therapy work, a coach should never engage in therapy.
Coaching starts with where you are right now and where you want to go, whether that’s tomorrow or in fifteen years. Coaching helps you identify strategies and next steps, as well as what might get in the way and how to change that issue, belief, or habit.
Therapy goes deeper — deeper into feelings, into your past, and deeper by working with trauma. If you are using insurance for your therapy, your therapist will be required to give you a diagnosis. Most coaching isn’t covered by insruance.
Both therapy and coaching are great tools. It all depends on what you need.
I am trained both as a therapist and as a coach. If you’re not sure about waht you need, we can talk about it. Whichever role you choose, that’s the role I will keep with you. I switch coaching and therapy roles with clients.
What happens in a coaching session?
Depending on where you live, we may meet in person or over Zoom. (I’m in the Winston-Salem, NC area.) We begin by identifying what you need to address or what goals you want to set. Haven’t a clue as to what that is? That’s a great place to start too!
My work is to ask the questions that help you get clarity, identify roadblocks, and create next steps. I’m not here to tell you what to do. I’m here to help you break through the noise and clutter so that you can listen to the wise parts of yourself that know what you want and what you need. Coaching also provides accountability for taking those next steps.
Is coaching about big life changes?
Sometimes.
It can also be about more effective ways of communication, creating new habits, or a healthier lifestyle. You may be ready to stop feeling like an imposter or to have a schedule that allows you to live your day instead of your day running you.
What do you want to be different in your life?
There are so many coaches out there. How do I choose?
Coaching isn’t a regulated industry, which means that anyone can call themselves a coach. That makes it confusing. Coaches who have trained in an ICF (International Coaching Federation) program not only have a solid foundation in the practice of coaching but also in ethical considerations and practices. Summit Coach training (the program in which I trained) is certified by ICF.
How long does coaching last?
In large measure, It all depends on you. You may want to deal with a particular issue. You may want to address bigger goals and do longer work. Or, you may appreciate the accountability of a regular check-in. Like everything else in the coaching process, it’s something that we work out together.
